What a difference a year can make. Last year we visited Kingsway Christian School near Mukono, Uganda, to see their campus and learn first hand about their lack of water. The students were walking into the forest to collect water for daily use, and life was challenging without a good source of clean water.

One year later we’re back at Kingsway to celebrate the completion of the new well and solar pumping system, and water distribution system throughout the campus. There are now water tap stands located throughout the campus that are fed by gravity from an elevated water storage tank. For the first time in the history of the school, clean water is readily available and easily accessible. This not only makes daily life much easier by eliminating the time spent walking to get water, but also makes sanitation, cooking, washing clothes, and a host of other things easier. It will also allow the school to increase their number of students and make it easier to attract and retain good teachers.

The celebration was joyous and emotion filled for everyone who attended, and it lasted 6 1/2 hours!
